Counter Exercise
Fast counter attack from a press turnover.
Setup
2 central defenders play the ball between each other and then try to hit through the zone of the press. Once received the 2 outside defenders can leave running around the corners set out. Aim to then counter attack.
Objective & Coaching Points
For the attacking group to receive well and then launch a counter attack. Defenders are delayed to get back. If they attack well and with speed they can create a 4 v 2 if they are slow it will get back to a 4 v 4.
Extension & Progression
You can change this by using whatever press shape you have. Changing adding numbers. Also having the ball passing team have players in behind the press shape to get the ball too.
